About the Artist
Cherry works mainly in stoneware and porcelain, with gold, glass and oxide inlays and coloured slips and clays.
She worked for two years in Malaysia, setting up two rural potteries, and a third in the museum in Pekan. She has had several solo exhibitions in Singapore and with the British Council in Kuala Lumpur. She is a member of the Kent Potters Association and has a studio in Canterbury.
‘My multicultural background has been a leading influence in my art. Patterns and decorations stem from my life in Kenya and Malaysia, shapes from Thailand and Libya and glazes from China and Japan.’
