Holly Hickmore

About the Artist

Holly has a Studio and foundry in Hampshire where she has devoted her life to sculpture. Holly finds inspiration in the wild and domestic animals that surround her studio, often being drawn back to the theme of the horse. Holly trained at the Hungarian School of Fine Art; she was part of a rigorous program of study spending long hours in the life room and attending dissections in veterinary school to fuel her interest in biomechanics. Holly looks for the essence of her subject empathetically and intuitively, through a continual dialectic between material, form and subject to bring her pieces to life. She is currently the artist in residence at Sandown Park Racecourse.
