‘Altered Lands’ is a new exhibition of works by painter Lisa Hawkins, where she presents familiar places experienced through the lens of imagination and memory. This show features a much anticipated series of all new oil paintings by the artist.

‘This series of paintings of locations in East Kent, are re worked in the studio and can also be read as a series of self-portraits. Walking and reflecting on a particular landscape becomes a vehicle to explore in colour and texture a particular time and psychological state or mood in my life; that time will never come again, and the inspiration for these particular paintings will never come again.’ — Lisa Hawkins, 2025

Please join us for the preview evening on Friday 5th September from 6pm when we will celebrate the launch of the show. The artist will be in attendance, and there will be prosecco, beer and non-alcoholic refreshments, as usual, so come along and start your September with a splash of culture!
