Terence Round

Terence Round has painted almost all his life, but made his career in the commercial design world.

He trained at the Central School of Art in Holborn, London, before becoming a graphic designer. He also worked as a fashion photographer in Paris and in furniture design in the 60s.

He went on to be Art Director for Terence Conran, when the Conran Empire was at its zenith, with Habitat, Heals, Storehouse, the Conran shops and Conran Design.

As a painter, he produced abstracts from the late 50s onwards and then taught himself figurative painting.

He now lives on the South East Coast and specialises in coastal scenes, capturing the special qualities of light and space which has attracted so many painters to Kent.
