Louise Giblin

Louise Giblin (1963-) is a Member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. She studied Sculpture B.A. at Brighton Polytechnic and History and Theory of Modern Art M.A at Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. Her tutors included Peter Randall-Page and Sir Antony Gormley.

As a body cast sculptor, Louise casts much of her work from living models. Sculpture is produced in clay with detailed imagery applied to the surface, then reproduced as a limited edition in bronze or other media. Her body cast models have included: celebrated Olympians such as Dame Kelly Holmes, Kriss Akabusi MBE and Duncan Goodhew MBE; media personalities; politicians; musicians; dancers; and pregnant women.

Louise’s sculpture and drawings have exhibited across the UK, in the US and Hong Kong and she received an international award for sculpture at Florence Biennale, 2015.

She represented UK in the International Artist Grand Prize in A.R.T., Taiwan, Asia’s largest art fair in 2016 and 2017 and was a Finalist in both years. Also, in 2017 she was chosen as the sole artist to represent UK in the G7 of Art, Italy, and was awarded the Lorenzo Il Magnifico Gold, 1st place for Sculpture by the International Jury at the Florence Biennale XI. In 2018, she is to receive an ATIM International Award for Contemporary Art at the Museum of Art and Design New York.

Louise is currently casting veterans of post-1914 wars for exhibition from 2018.

She lives and works in East Sussex.
